Hi,

i just installed openvas on Fedora 19 in a 8GB RAM VM. Host is a 3.2GHz
Intel Core i3 with 12GB RAM. We are following these instructions:
http://www.openvas.org/install-packages.html#openvas_fedora_atomic

In principle, it should have been an easy task, just by running two
commands: yum install openvas
&& openvas-setup

But, in step 4, when opening https://localhost:9392/ (Firefox 26.0)

i cannot log in, just receive the error "Login failed. OMP service is down."

Then i went to:
http://www.openvas.org/setup-and-start.html

Running openvas-check-setup shows this error & fix:
"ERROR: The number of NVTs in the OpenVAS Manager database is too low."
" FIX: Make sure OpenVAS Scanner is running with an up-to-date NVT
collection and run 'openvasmd --rebuild'."

When trying "service openvas-scanner start" i get:
"Starting openvas-scanner (via systemctl): Job for openvas-scanner.service
failed. See 'systemctl status openvas-scanner.service' and 'journalctl -xn'
for details."

when running systemctl status openvas-scanner.service:
Starting openvas-scanner: /bin/bash: line 1: 3054 Segmentation fault
(core dumped) /usr/sbin/openvassd -q

openvasmd --rebuild does not bring any output.

openvassd shows:
"Loading the plugins... 4692 (out of 33789)Segmentation fault (core dumped)"

i tried to repeat openvas-setup and i get an ok to proceed to the GSA:
"Setup complete, you can now access GSAD at: https://<IP>:9392"

But when trying to log in, the same OMP down problem.

OpenVAS-Client works, but when trying to connect

I upgraded Fedora to 20 (3.12.8-300.fc20.x86_64) and still the same
problems.

I feel like in a loop, any ideas what am i doing wrong?

Thanks!
