Thanks Micha, this was working for us:

rm /var/cache/openvas/*
openvas-nvt-sync

when trying rm /var/lib/openvas/plugins/* i got:
-bash: /bin/ls: Argument list too long

but anyway GSA is up and running now. We may set up a Centos VM instead of
fedora, would this be more realiable?
