Oh, that was kind of stupid of me to forget. Everything now works
flawlessly, thanks. 

Just one last question. Has anybody looked into 'dwc_otg' driver from the
asus 2.6.21.x kernel (bundled with their GPL firmware)? 
I want to get usb up and running. Is there anybody working on that
already?

It looks like they got their usb IP block from synopsys, as the comments
in headers state. 
There's also a newer dwc driver implementation I've seen in the patches
upstream: http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/89560/ for a samsung ARM SoC.
So far I'm not sure what will be better - port from 21x or from
upstream...
