Currently OpenWRT is on kernel v3. I hope they won't get back to kernel
v2.
You could try dd-wrt which is still on v2.6 but I don't know whether they
support this hardware.
Finally, whatever the pros can be to have HWaNAT, it will never happen if
there is no developer working on it.
We can still revert to stock firmware, though.
