I thought it was a DHCP issue at first (as some people in those other
tickets mention) because eth0 shows up fine but just doesn't get an IP
address from the DHCP server. But it didn't work with static config, or on
other DHCP servers. WIFI works ok otherwise I wouldn't have been able to
get any info about the problem. So it may be more widespread than this
thread indicates...
