Here's how you fix the current firmware loading issue with trunk for
ath10k:
Download this firmware to your local computer:
https://github.com/kvalo/ath10k-
firmware/blob/master/10.2.4/untested/firmware-3.bin_10.2.4.13-1
Then copy it to the router's firmware directory:
scp firmware-3.bin_10.2.4.13-1
root@ROUTER_IP_ADDRESS:/lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA988X/hw2.0/firmware-3.bin
Then reboot the router, and you should be back up with the 5ghz network.
