OK, I've set the first part.. the wan port IP/Netmask/Gateway

Like

uci set network.wan.proto=static
uci set network.wan.proto.ipaddr=192.168.1.50
uci set network.wan.proto.netmask=255.255.255.0
uci set network.wan.proto.gateway=192.168.1.1 (<== existing router)
uci set commit
/etc/init.d/network restart

Hardwired the wr1043 to a cisco-linksys-120N

But can no longer reach the WR1043

Ping 192.168.1.50 unreachable... and of course I can no longer
contact it at all. YIKES

I think setting static may have been a mistake. However I tried to
account for it by reserving the MAC of WR1043 as 192.168.1.50 on the
cisco.

But it appears not to be working.. Or I've boneheaded something.

Maybe I should have left the WR1043 default of dhcp alone?

Anyway, how can I access the darn thing now? If I press the reset
button will it go back to a state as if it had never been accessed
with address 192.168.1.1?
