Thanks Tobias. This is exactly what I was after. I did "read" the wiki, but I obviously didn't do it very thoroughly and didn't see the failsafe recovery section.
I was looking at serial console stuff, but it's not too easy on the WR703N due to no serial connector (just a couple of delicate pads on the pcb). I did order some TTL serial to USB adapters from eBay too (before I got your response) but I'm sure they will come in handy for other things in the future. Cheers, Brendan.
