Hi,

I'm reading the how to at http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/linksys/wrt54g

The installation section mentions openwrt-wrt54g-squashfs.bin,

And then mentions
You're done! At this point, you are free to continue using brcm-2.4. However,
if you wish to use brcm47xx, proceed below.
Download the image openwrt-brcm47xx-squashfs.trx here:
http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/10.03.1/brcm47xx/

and the README from http://downloads.openwrt.org/attitude_adjustment/12.09/
saysHighlights since Backfire 10.03.1:
  * Dropped support for legacy Broadcom target (brcm-2.4)
* Lower end devices with only 16 MiB RAM will easily run out of
Memory, for bcm47xx based devices is Backfire with brcm-2.4
    recommended

So, one of mine is: 4.0 Broadcom BCM5352 @ 200 MHz 16 MB 4 MB

I thought I found v4 in the supported list, but is it even a brcm47xx?

Should I try http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/10.03.1/brcm47xx/
instead of the new version for a 16MB wrt54g?

My wrt54gs looks like a reduced one: 6.0 Broadcom BCM5352 @ 200 MHz
16 MB 2 MB CGN

Is it much better to get an earlier version like wrt54gs 1.0 1.1 2.0 2.1
that have 2.1 Broadcom BCM4712 @ 216 MHz 32 MB 8 MB

?
