I suppose this depends on whether you consider boost as a stop-gap measure for 
stuff which is not yet available in the oldest supported compiler or if you 
would like to use it as much as possible. (I'd vote for the first option, we 
had our fair share of boost-related troubles already and logging is not soo 
terribly complicated...)
