[Oralux] fedora

Hi does anyone know about a linux called fedora.
A friend gave me a 4 disc set.
My daughter says it has a desktop kind of like windows
and she saw a screen reader. 
I guess it didn't see the soundcard in the computer I tried it on,
because the screen reader didn't work.
But if anyone knows anything about it I would like some information.
