Brian,

There is really no rule for when an RFE is handled. An RFE may be
resolved the day it was filed or... never. It is a fact of life that
Presentation Server developers have limited resources and have to
prioritize tasks depending on many factors, including importance of
the feature for the platform and demand from paying customers.

To impact this prioritization scheme you can also:

1. Sponsor the feature, i.e. pay Orbeon developers to implement it
   ASAP.

2. Do it yourself: after all, the source code is out there, and the
   more people know the code base, the better!

I hope this gives you a general idea of the process :-)
