I recommend you look at the BizDoc example, which does exactly this. We 
add to the XForms instance a /form/show-errors element, which we set to 
true in the Page Flow if errors are found when trying to save. Then, in 
the view, we set the attribute like this:

<xforms:group ref="/form"
     xxforms:show-errors="{/form/show-errors = 'true'}">
