Yes, it's not clear to me how complicated real-life pipelines can get. Obviously, if they tend to be mostly straight lines, the metaphor reaches its limit very quickly. But I think that XPL remains about guiding flows of data (more so, for example, than WS-BPEL or other process execution languages), so the metaphor of pipes still applies well IMO.


Yes, after Erik's latest explanations I tend to agree that the current
situation with proper documentation and maybe minor adaptations is
nice.
