This shouldn't be a surprise to those of us old enough to remember just how valuable a resource this was up until about 1995. The power decided to ignore their base and target the beginner with one phalaenopsis. "Orchids" became more and more just a lovely photo-shopped publication and dropped any pretense at education. And then the website forum was so sanitized as to be worthless. Lee touts the 20,000 posts and ignores the fact that 10% of the posts are by one person who doesn't have a clue but feels it's her mission to coddle every new beginner with a message of love and understanding. I have been a member since 1970 and continually hope to see some sign that they realize the errors and will try to return to a more responsive group. Not seeing much promise though.
