Speaking out of relative ignorance, I feel compelled to ask:
How many gametes contain all the necessary genetic material to produce a viable
organism if only converted to a diploid? It seems that the recipe would often
lack some key ingredients.
Incidentally, I have been nurded (sp?) several times in my life, but until I
was exposed to orchid culture I always managed a full recovery.
