This is just another variation of the Origami Purist Standards. I am no purist.
I regard paper scoring to be a variation of PreCreasing which I think of as Paper Training. All folding is just a means of training the paper to do what you want it to do. As a added bonus, kids giggle when they thing of Paper Training and their pet dogs. I appreciated seeing Bernie Peyton's new book describing stuffing cotton balls into an origami model to give them "extra" body. I have been doing this for years. I do not regard this as cheating either. Poster Board: Many years ago, a friend worked in a print shop. He got some scrap card board from "department store gift boxes. It was a bit thinner than poster board. He made a thirty piece Robert Neale Dodecahedron out of 2 foot squares. It was sturdy enough to use as end table in his apartment with a table top.
