we didn't discuss whether this would be default, more a matter of whether
we'd like extend CVS write period in order to get this [and other items]
into the 2.3 release.

It may be a bit ambitious to make it the default right out of the gate?
BrianF noted that it's likely that a bit of tuning will be needed as things
progress b/c of performance sensitivity btw mcast & different routers.
(more precisely the UDPcaster tool that's used by FlameThrower)
