Category: Installation >Group: Future Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Neil Gorsuch (ngorsuch) Assigned to: Brian Elliott Finley (brianfinley) Summary: ia64 clients crash on initial kernel boot when sis loading Initial Comment: On both an older Itanium-1 machine, and a new Itanium-2 machine, and another vendor's Itanium- 2 machine, the initial loading of the compute node clients fails. This happens when the initial kernel is loaded over the network and tries to boot. The kernel crashes with a message about "cramfs: wrong magic" and another about "bogus logical sector size". This is with oscar 2.2b5 running on a fresh redhat 7.2 install. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Thomas Naughton (naughtont) Date: 2003-08-05 16:03 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=288102 As per today's (8/5/03) teleconf call ia64 support has been delayed for now to get 2.3 out the door. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thomas Naughton (naughtont) Date: 2003-07-29 14:38 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=288102 Waiting on status updates for ia64 from NCSA ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thomas Naughton (naughtont) Date: 2003-06-06 00:11 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=288102 is this still an issue? we had the 2.2.1 release to iron out ia64 stuffo. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thomas Naughton (naughtont) Date: 2003-03-03 15:39 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=288102 the ia64 issues have been moved to 2.3 so we can release 2.2. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: dann frazier (dannf) Date: 2003-02-27 12:35 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=146718 i'm told that this means you are using our standard 3.0.0 flavor boot package (not the 2.4.20-standard). is this correct? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109368&aid=693341&group_id=9368 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built ASP.NET sites including Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are available now.
