One thing that could help port OSCAR to Debian is to convert the RPM repositories to APT using apt4rpm and use apt-get instead of rpm to handle package installation and management. This will go a long way to making OSCAR distribution independent and it can be done in parallel to OSCARonDebian. With enough work building an OSCAR cluster could be as simple as typing "apt-get install oscar", and it wouldn't matter whether you're using Debian or one of the RPM-based distributions. See <http://apt4rpm.sourceforge.net> and <http://freshrpms.net/apt> for more information. For an example of an apt-based RPM repository see <http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/apt>. -- Karl Sackett K4KRS [EMAIL PROTECTED] "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross."
