So I modified install_cluster and generic-setup in my local copy.
However, I didn't commit them, because:
1. There is no Mandrake.pm module to recognize Mandrake distro's.
2. There is no module to recognize RedHat 9 (but I think we
don't care
anymore, right? I ask because generic-setup recognizes it, and I
effectively took that support out)
Since I would like us to move quickly with this, if Fernando does not
mind, then I would recommend that we check this code in breaking
Mandriva support until Fernando has gotten this resolved. Ultimately
Fernando is the only person who develops on that platform so if it is
borked he will be the on to fix it anyway ;-)
I believe this to be true as well, but I'd like to hear it from Fernando
himself... :-)
In regards to Red Hat Linux 9, we don't support it, I don't see why
generic-setup needs to support it (perhaps some packages still contain
rhl9 RPMs that other distro uses?)
I also agree; just wanted to hear at least one other person agree with
me. :-)
If that's the case, then a pre-requisite for updating generic-setup to
use OS_Detect is to convert ALL packages to use generic-setup.
I'm not sure I follow your logic here...?
