Dear all,
I have started porting DIPC to Linux 2.6.x kernels. DIPC is a very good
complement to OSCAR's set of tools because it provides transparent access to
data over a cluster.
I got the ipc/sem.c and ipc/msg.c files to compile, but because of changes
to how IPC shared memories are treated in newer kernels, had to comment two
main routines in ipc/shm.c to have it compile. Currently only i386 machines
are supported, but I am hoping to support the other architectures ASA the
main problems are resolved.
I expect the kernel to compile (my machine is churning away and by the looks
of it, it won't be finished anytime soon, so I can't be sure about a
successful link, and it definitely won't work correctly). I invite you to
have a look at the code. Any help in making it work and improving the
quality of the code is greatly appreciated.
You can download the DIPC-2.1 Alpha 0 package from
http://www.cs.uwindsor.ca/~kamran/downloads.html , in the DIPC section.
Thanks.
