I'm thinking that we need to use a different RPM for each distro unless there is a way to preferrentially select the distro-specific one instead of the one from common-rpms.
 
BTW, can you please rebuild the following SRPM on RHEL3 and see if it works?  I have updated it so it builds correctly on openSUSE 10.0 - if it works then I'll check the SRPM into trunk.

Yes, I have and it works. But I am not sure if it works on the other
distros.
I will check to see if it works on FC3-X86 tomorrow.
