Hi Mike:

We can probably rename it from sidebar -> index, but not sure if this plays
well with DokuWiki. I'm happy as long as I only need to modify one place for
indexing (or just not modify at all and have it auto-generate :) ).

There are still some small issues to iron out, in terms of how the "sidebar"
will look when it takes the role of index as well... (formatting and the likes)

Thanks,

Bernard

Subject: [Oscar-devel] no "index" page on the wiki?

On last weeks call, we discussed briefly a couple options for how to
resolve the current problem in dokuwiki where if you edit the "index"
page after adding new content, you also have to edit the "sidebar"
page so the new page shows up there as well. Bernard suggested simply
not ever displaying the "index" page, but instead just display the
first page of the document with the sidebar.

I think this is a viable solution, but my question is a bit of
somantics. Do we want to use the default "sidebar" page as the index,
or do we want to change it to be called "index" or something else?
Which would people find easier to remember since it would not ever be
displayed as being editable unless you dropped into the master index
page (the thing with all the little folders most folks find a bit
confusing anyway)?

I was going to implement this, but I was ambivalent as to which way to
go so I thought I would ask and see if folks had any opinions.
