Hi John: "Delete Clients" does work even before you run "Complete Cluster Setup" - it's just that it tries to run the post_install step after it's done removing the client definitions and will mention some error after the step is executed. Running post_install here obviously will cause errors, because the image has not been deployed, but since the step is re-runnable, it _should_ be okay.
Perhaps in the future we would take that into account and for clients that have not yet been imaged, simply remove its client definition, etc. You guys might want to take note of that... OK, so how about: Ch.6 Cluster Administration 6.1 Overview: blah blah see administration_guide:sidebar but we've put a few items here for your convenience 6.2 Start Over 6.3 Delete Clients and Images On second thought, Delete Clients should go between 5.8 and 5.9 to follow the GUI order. Delete Images is completely separate from the GUI and should go in Admin. (Now aren't you sorry you let me into this? :-) I'm not sure that Delete OSCAR Clients actually works properly prior to running Complete Cluster Setup for the first time, but that's another issue. > Also, I belive that it is mentioned in the current docs that you can > simply re-run the "add clients" step in the install wizard as many > times as neccesary. It might need to be emphasized somehow I suppose. Yes, it does say that step can be executed multiple times. You don't even need to close the step and reopen it. I've also seen that the entire install can be ended, then started again (./install_oscar eth0) and it will skip the parts that are already done. Hmm, makes Manage Mode a little less necessary. > > On 8/15/06, John Meskes <John.Meskes> wrote: > > On 15 Aug 2006 at 14:30, Michael Edwards wrote: > > > > > Mainly I don't want to have topics covered extensively in two > > > locations...
