Since OSCAR is an agregate project with our own release cycle, we tend to end up lagged behind the current verions of the individual packages by a bit. Depending on the release cycle of the project, and bad timing we occasionally end up farther behind than is neccesarily a good idea. There are also sometimes stability issues between specific package versions and OSCAR itself, but I think in this case its just a release lag issue.
We have been trying to stabilize the OSCAR 5.0 release for a couple months now, so we have frozen package upgrades unless there are unresolvable bugs between the current version and OSCAR. If you would like to do so, you should be able to update a local repository to the current version of the package rpm for your particular distro and, possibly with a bit of fiddling with the OSCAR package internals, you should be able to get the package to use the latest torque rpm instead of the current OSCAR version. I don't think updating torque is likely to cause any problems with OSCAR itself, but its really hard to tell without trying it.
