I did a clean install of CentOS 5 on the same hardware as my other box I've been using for testing. Something I had previously done must have mucked with my Perl. With the vanilla install, I was able to successfully build an OSCAR client image. I need to find another box to try an install with, but at least for now, I am through all the other errors I had. Thanks again, DongInn. --Joe

I am scheming to get an RHEL license, but it hasn't come through yet, so I am working Cent for now. I wonder if I've just hacked my system up too much, as I was doing some stuff on it before I started with OSCAR. Maybe a fresh install will work better. I'll let you know if it works. Thanks for all the help to this point. --Joe ________________________________ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] on behalf of DongInn Kim Sent: Tue 1/15/2008 5:34 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Oscar-devel] oscar 5.1 branch - nightly 20080111 installswithout a hitch on RHEL5 x86_64 Hi Joe, I am not sure what happened on your head node but looks like your perl lib (/usr/lib{,64}/perl5/..)and systemimager perl libs are not acting properly. At this point, I have no idea how to deal with your lib problems without actually reproducing the problems by myself. If possible, can you please reinstall RHEL5 on another machine and then start the oscar installation on the fresh RHEL5? I believe that it would be worth to try to look into this issue more deeply but I can not spend much time on it right now because we want to release branch-5-1 officially ASAP.
