What is the recommended way to handle user accounts? Ideally, I would like to make my Master node a NIS slave server in my current NIS domain, but I've been running into many problems just making it a client. I have not been able to override NIS attributes (specifically, home directory and shell). If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
Due to a serious time crunch, I can't afford to fight with it any longer, so now I'm wondering if I should just create a new NIS domain only for the cluster (Master node = NIS master and all calculation nodes = NIS clients).
