We have been running 2.2.1 since May of this year. We have been riding along the list since version 1.1 and felt this one was much more user friendly and stable than the past ones. We have been reluctant to upgrade to the newer version with all the talk on the list of intro bugs. We understand that these will always be there in anything, but right now this one suites our needs very well. We did the install from OPD for ganglia.

If you have any other questions I can help with, Please feel free to ask,

Hey Ben:

Ganglia looks pretty good :-)

I was wondering which version of Oscar you are running right now. People on the list seems to have problems setting up Ganglia with Oscar v2.3.

We have just deployed Oscar 2.3 on our RH9 based blade center and are running some tests right now. If we can install Ganglia as well it would be great!

Did you install it via OPD or just the direct RPM?

Thanks!

Bernard

I see a bit of activity on my master node. If you want to take a look at our ganglia logs, see this link <http://viper.engr.memphis.edu/ganglia/index.php> . The mater node for me is called viper. http://viper.engr.memphis.edu/ganglia/index.php

I think a fairly fast computer is fine to handle it but RAM is a must. Mine is a Athlon 1300 with 512 MB RAM and it needs more ram to handle our 60 nodes.

Just my thoughts,

For those who have been running OSCAR for a while, is there generally a lot of load on the master node if there are a lot of jobs submitted to OpenPBS? We are thinking whether we need a more powerful machine to be the master node - presumably one with faster processors and more RAM.

Thanks guys!

Bernard
