I don't think that's sufficient, though.  It appears to be that PBS is
doing a gethostbyname()  instead of searching by /etc/nsswitch.conf
ordering (i.e., ignores /etc/hosts).

So while things like "ping pbs_oscar" work fine, "host pbs_oscar" and
similar lookups fail on the clients.
