What was it doing just prior?  This is trying to figure where in the
master script it was.  It shouldn't be too hard to fix, maybe some code
somewhere that sez "hda must be r/w disk"?

Just for giggles on one node, pop the cable to the secondary ATA
channel, and then it will show up as /dev/hdc -- this should work
cleanly.
