'nother question: "failed on some of my nodes", what were the h/w configs of the failing nodes versus the OK nodes? If "all same config, some worked, some didn't", then it sounds like the BIOS' are different. I've seen screwy stuff like this with bunches of otherwise "identical" boxes. Possible solutions in order of increasing PITA-ness are: reset each node's BIOS; replace each node's CMOS batteries (even bigger PITA) and reset BIOS; reflash each node's BIOS. -- David N.
