Maybe it's a noobish problem and i'n realy a noob, but not SO boob. ^_^
Anyway i triied this and does not work, i triied also to remove ganglia package with oscar_wizard but uninstallation caused a crash on my headnode. After some testing seems that rpm command never ends and use 100% cpu forever O_O, command line does not work and i was unable to use command line, or kill rpm process or switch display (ctrl+alt+F1) so i dad to power down brutally my masternode) to get a new shell. Triied this several times.
Since ganglia it's a minor problem for me, and actually i need to submit some jobs i will wait pair of weeks that cluster finish and then i will reinstall everything.
p.s) when i told " request simply freezes" i meant that after pressing <ENTER> , gstat give me not any answer and i got not shell back. Seems that gstat is "waiting forever for an answer". Same thing happens from a browser, it waits forever for a reply he will never get. I triied also to start ganglia using /usr/sbin/gmetad -d1 and /usr/sbin/gmond -d1 to see if debug tells me where is the problem but i got not any info.

Try this:
1) stop gmetad and gmond on headnode
2) use cexec to stop gmond on all the compute nodes
3) start gmetad on headnode
4) start gmond on headnode
5) start gmond on compute nodes
is it better?
Also, can you be more precise by what you mean by 'request simply freezes'?
Cheers,
