Sorry, yes there was a typo, but this is actually irrelevant because
it was the nth time I'd tried that and all permutations failed
(including buildimage and including the odd typo !)
> mksiimage -A --name redhat9image --location /tftpboot/rpm/redhat9/ --filename
> /opt/oscar/oscarsamples/redhat-9-i386.rpmlist.sorted --arch i386 --path
> /var/lib/systemimager/images/redhat9image --verbose
This gives the same error :

It's wierd to me, because all these packages are indeed there. If I
include their version numbers that fails too in the same way...
I do recall however a problem that I had initially on this machine
when building images for the x86_64 nodes, where selinux was set to
targeted. You mentioned a while back that this could mean problems
when chroot'ing ... I've disabled that and am going to check what
happens now.
