So, I turned this off and as you suspected it was not an issue.

I have put all the rpm's from the oscar packages in
/tftpboot/rpm/redhat9. Still dies, same error.

We do indeed use this machine to build other images - the x86_64
images for our actual nodes....

So, this presents a problemm, I take it. But there _must_ be a way to
build images with SIS on a node that already has images for another
distro/arch. Else, you would have to have a separate image server for
every distro you wanted to support (sounds very cumbersome !). Can I
build images without SystemInstaller::Package::UpdateRpms ? I would
need a hint there though...
