If you want to try 4.x I would strongly suggest using 4.2.1, which is posted
on sourceforge.

Also, you need to start from a fresh installation of RHEL 4. Just deleting
the files in /opt/oscar will not get rid of all the pieces scattered about.
Running the /opt/oscar/scripts/start_over script might have cleaned things
up, but since you deleted the files I would start over.

Well, I would start over anyway, but thats just me. Then you know for sure
where you are starting from and can repeat the process if you have problems
to see if it is a repeatable issue or a weird fluke of some kind.

Hi I was earlier trying oscar 5 installation on a cluster of 9 computers
with headnode having RHEL version 4 (32-bit). I got stuck and am trying
oscar 4.2 now.
Though I deleted all the folders of oscar 5 in /opt and /tftpboot before
trying to install version 4.2, I still got an error message. I think it
might be an conflict with some installations from the version 5.
Any suggestions
I have attached the error logfile
thanks
