Simple cluster for research team's development Hi, guys,
I am a graduate student. I want to build up a development environment for our research team. The function I want to accomplish with cluster is list as following: (1) The cluster consists of 1 server node and 4 client nodes. These nodes are connected though local LAN by ethernet and the server is connect to the internet with another netcard. The same kinds of software are install on all nodes. The team member can only log to the server node. (2) When the user login, the server dispatchs the shell task to others client node which are not busy. Then the user do his or her daily developping jobs at that node. (3) The user's home directory is present in server node while the physical disk may be at client nodes. I have complete the steps (1) and (3) with OSCAR and NFS. But the step 2, I have no idea how to carry out. So here is my questions: Is the step 2 possible and what kinds of software do I need to install and how to config them if possible. Please kindly share your idea if you have similar experience or thought. Thanks!
