Your hosts file  seems okay. The oscarinstall.log file is in /var/log/oscar
Are installing Fedora core 9 or Redhat 9? I do not think that Redhat 9 is a supported distro for oscar 5.1 beta2

Please post the oscarinstall.log file. I think you have not set your permissions in the /etc/ssh/sshd_config  var PermitRootLogin to yes by removing the # sign before it.
Also the /etc/hosts file has be in a certain format.
