Gordon,

I decided to use CentOS 5.2 operating system instead of fc8. That fixed my 
problem.

I'm experiencing similar errors also with fc8 i386 and 5.1 beta. The install 
works but on reboot the error messages appear. In addition the kernel seems to 
finding a non-existent sda device and getting confused with the hda device 
which it should be using. This install was with netboot and without UYOK .
