Actually, it might have been because I wanted to build the kernel for Sierra
Wireless support. However, the system trying to download 2.6.39 did not
occur until I also asked to build iptables via a menuconfig selection.

Is this something to do with needing some older kernel headers for the
Sierra Wireless USB 3G modem?
