The latest version is iptables-1.4.19 Where does some code in the source tell you what kernel (headers) you should be compiling against?
I have done a bit of reading about kernel headers, but haven't found a list of rules. glibc seems to be involved. Obviously, one can compile older versions of programs, ie thttpd 2.21 against newer kernel versions as you helped with the script I use. Or, does it depend on what (function) changes in a specific application take place? Thanks, Dave
