No, but for many of us we must already start to plan our future development workflow and potentially factor out the use of MTASC altogether. Since I doubt very much that a copy of the Flash IDE will be bundled with Flex2, and as far as I am aware we have not yet been told whether the Flash IDE will in future include a command line compiler, those developers who don't have money to burn will be forced to revert back to the pre-MTASC process of compiling (very slowly) within the Flash IDE. Of course we have the option of sticking with AS2 forever (not desirable) or learning a new language and breaking compatibility with ActionScript, but in my world this is not really an option for many reasons. Firstly, it will be incredibly difficult to justify the use of a different language (that mostly only open source flash developers will know) when providing source code for a project to a client. It will just be too difficult for the client to hire future developers to maintain a project. Secondly, it is currently possible to "dual-compile" in Eclipse with MTASC and with the Flash IDE, giving us developers the ability to remain working in Eclipse, but to deliver the client a standard Flash project (*.fla, *.as). This will no longer be an option. So you see, in my world MTASC is already dead :( _______________________________________________ osflash mailing list [email protected] http://osflash.org/mailman/listinfo/osflash_osflash.org
