In my experience Flash has BIG problems looping mp3 files, most Sound 
looping tutorials I have read assume that you have imported uncompressed 
audio (wav, aiff etc.) into the library, however it seems completely 
impossible to loop dynamically loaded mp3s and imported compressed audio 
(using attachSound()) accurately.

I've tried various things including putting 100ms of silence at the 
start of each mp3 in order to offset playback, this should give me 
millisecond accuracy, but no luck...

I'd love someone to prove me wrong.
