I'm always at two minds about this. On the one hand, I grew up a child of the curly brace (sad, eh?) and, on the other, I truly believe that the world would be a better place if compilers actually enforced conventions, thereby leading to consistent code and wiping out, with one fell swoop, all the confusion that needless arguments like "where should the braces go" cause (of course, they should on a separate line!) :P Seriously, though, if anything my current thinking is that braces are a redundant way of specifying what a newline signifies anyway and since redundancy is bad... well... there you go. I still love my braces though... It's a personal thing... they're so familiar... curly... they comfort me! :P
