Now seriously, I am pro convention all the way, but the most important 
thing is that it is a convention in the team you are working in. It is 
impossible to get the whole world do the same thing, although that would 
be great though (imagine there was only 1 programming language, 1 
webserver, 1 operating system, etc). Getting you and your team on the 
same track is a good start.

And in the end it is just a matter of personal taste. I personally don't 
like the "{" on a seperate line because to me, it doesn't read that 
easily. It is also confusing when you read a tech book that uses another 
convention.
