Is there only a few people using Eclipse as a development tool ?
When FDT came out, so much people seemed wanting to afford the price.
So no one use asdt anymore ?
I use it pretty much but same as you: FDT ith the open source developer license.
But perhaps there is just a few OOP AS developers around there and they
were divided in two at the time fdt launched.
We should perhaps ask Nico Zimmermann Carlos and the fdt team if the
had a lot of sell of their plugin.
Maybe the as market is really small.
The market is big but there is no "idea" solution. I can see that Sepy still develops.
As maybe to mention Sepy IS Opensource and Crossplattform but its architecture
lacks in generity and the projectmanagement is not in my favor.
For haxe nothing has yet arrived thats the reason i see MAJOR need in this. Since
it could also be used for AJAX the market could be at least doubled.
I like the eclipse project management even if you need to dig into it. But once you
set it up its great for coding.
(btw.: His name is "Carlo")
So yes, I would consider a donation not as an _expression_ of my emotion,
but as a support for an adobe ide's alternative.
And perhaps, that would mean to rethink the number of tools available.
If only a few might use an IDE, should it be the same ?
Maybe the open source community should work together? I mean: a good language
(haXe) is nothing without good libraries and matching tools (not only IDE). All those is
not easy to spread without some "marketing effort" like examples or people using it
and writing books about it. Maybe its cools stuff we all do and maybe noone knows.
But maybe all of this is a mirage, there is no actionscript developer
as I thought.
Sad wednesday !
agree.
yours
martin.
