yeah right a parser for an editor is bullshit if it fails on any error because
completion would break in many cases.
think of writing a method as long as you don't close the body all following
methods would not be in completion.
or try to imagin what it takes to identify a problem so you can offer a quick
fix without a sophisticated error recovery.
if one has to hand-code all that stuff it would be too much work.
apart from that i heard the developer of antlr studio wrote some code for
incremental parsing for the antlr 3. that would also make it easier.
the idea of an as2,as3 and haXe parser project pointed out by Martin Wood is a
great idea.
it would be a great starting point and a good base for any development in this
area.
i would definitely contribute as i have already done some things in that area.
it is generally easier to oversee small units of work than to look at the big
picture.
