those things can be efficient and maybe better made in AJAX too.
The ultimate power of flash is its abilitiy to deal videos/sounds and various
other inputs in relativly small sites. Another ability that counts on plus of
flash is that it has one API to rely on. If you create a flash page it works
on various Systems, just by default. To finally add is the automatic compression
of any data (including scripts).
So no wonder its not that widly know. Nevertheless there ARE lots of people out
there who use actionscript 2. The community is a lot smaller than the AJAX one
but that MAY be very well a problem of wrong communication of the real values.

maybe another example... some time ago if I didn't misunderstand, even
with that amazing progect of "João Saleiro"
after it was presented at college, does not changed his teachers mind.
they insisted in using ajax for future progects (on Portugal).
Here in Brazil probably there are not much people who really bet on
flash for RIA.. it is much more for design
using flash IDE. maybe some who are adobe certified...
whatever... I think the key is to divulgate more and more the osflash
technology for RIA. and YES, probably it's a very good
idea the blog related with it. But maybe also some articles in any
sites of each ones region.
(by the way it was how I firstly read about mtasc and osflash).
