On the heat issue: Our designer's MBP and my ThinkPad T60 (with which I'm very happy, BTW) both have the Core Duo. We stress tested them, both cores at 100% until the temperature stopped raising. I got to 71C, he got to 89C. To be fair, the MBP just got recalled by the vendor -- not for the battery, but for a new motherboard. Maybe it will fix this issue. I'd love to have OSX as a second OS, but for the kind of money Apple wants, I expect a laptop without heat issues or that obvious design flaw with the keyboard imprints that, as I've been told, they still haven't fixed after knowing about it for four years. For a company which prides itself of superior industrial design, that's just unacceptable, IMHO.
