Because OSFlash is a community. Throw money at a community and you get arguments. You then need rules, business structure, directors, voting. Your community will then move elsewhere :-). Open source has done well on the "scratch an itch" principle. So better, IMHO, to pay developers for a specific feature. Or throw money at specific developers as a thank-you for stuff they've already made (including Aral for OSFlash infrastructure) if you don't actually need anything new currently. Darren P.S. Aargh, I've gone and let myself get sucked into this time-wasting thread haven't I! But while I'm here, I think Adobe already does a lot for open source; and not just projects and libraries. Do not forget when an Adobe staff member answers a question on this mailing list Adobe is paying their salary. More gratitude guys? The way some people have reacted here you would think Adobe were in partnership with the devil and/or Microsoft. :-) _______________________________________________ osflash mailing list [email protected] http://osflash.org/mailman/listinfo/osflash_osflash.org
